BIOGRAPHY
Between 1994 and 2005, J.V. wrote/produced/directed television documentaries, earning several awards. All the while, J.V., who began his career in Los Angeles radio news at age 15 as a writer and occasional on-air reporter, missed terribly being around microphones.
The ache to get back on mic eventually became so strong that in 2001 he began offering his voice for temporary ("scratch") tracks to all of the other documentary producers at the television production company where he worked in order to be heard by as many network execs as possible with the intent of launching a voice-over career. It seemed like a long shot, but it paid off. In early 2002, he was booked for his first narration job - a Travel Channel program. Things really took off after that. By the end of 2002 he had narrated eight programs for assorted networks.
Because of his experience as a producer, J.V. has a complete understanding of and respect for the jobs of the writer, producer and director - a rare quality that his clients greatly value.
In 2005, the growing demands of J.V.'s new voice-over career led him to retire from his 'day job' of producing. He has gone on to become one of the most prolific narrators on television, as the voice of countless specials and multiple series, both documentary and reality. He also lends his voice to commercials, promos, and an increasing number of corporate/industrial projects.
